FUNCTIONALITIES

The CS WAVE welding virtual trainer is an educational tool designed to support the trainer and trainee during the initial training. It is focused on the welding motion and concentration learning, through a virtual and friendly approach.
Predefined and configurable scenarios allow the trainer to optimize the training by providing scheduling, evolution control and gesture quality assessment.

MOTION SKILL PRACTICE

The CS WAVE virtual trainer is motorized and the screen height can vary from 840 mm to 1520 mm according to the required welding position and rotates from a vertical to horizontal position.
The workbench is calibrated for each user depending of his height and then adapts for each exercise automatically.
The system is provided with 178 exercises in 3 processes, under ISO or ASME codes ( i.e.:  141.BW.PF.S0).

The hand motion is divided into 4 parameters:

Speed / Trajectory/ Distance / Orientation

The student practices on those parameters combining them together as he progresses until he can manage a perfect hand motion with the 4 simultaneous parameters.

Visual guides help him to master the perfect hand motion for each exercise.
During the exercise, the trainer can easily watch the student and observe his gesture and body position.

The system will provide the trainer with a complete and instant statement of all students work on a given day on the Control Centre. Therefore the trainer does not need to stand constantly on the student side on the workbench. Thanks to the result graph, he will discuss with the students their areas of improvement (confort zone position, effort ...) The trainee is then ready to move to the workshop and practice in the real workshop environment with the other constraints known (fumes, darkness, welding machine, ).
